Contracultura is the new research, installation and exhibition project of Cia. Miquel Barcelona Putting at the center common engines that start from the idea of culture of the margins in Western contexts, the Company will reflect, provoke and share different actions and stage pieces in cooperation with different cultural agents.
The search begins in April 2022 through the search for witnesses, projects and cultural agents with the desire to value dialogue and first-person experience.
The artistic intention of the project is to revisit, update and question these themes and, under no circumstances, to privilege them over others that have not been chosen for artistic reasons, lack of knowledge or geographical situation.
Despite being a project that has a transdisciplinary approach and team, the fact of thinking about it from the body and dance is already consciously a first choice of language that generates peripheral discourses by nature.
Based on this choice and all the countercultural research, 3 installation projects (Anatomy, Wall and Ecosystem) and 3 stage projects (Utopia, Orgy and Normality) are conceptualized.
The project culminates in VigÃlia , a transdisciplinary show about the paradigm shift.
Parallel
In the 22-23 season, through the En Residencia project (driven by the Mercat de les Flors i el Graner), the project will be used to generate a theoretical framework that unites new generations with critical thinking.
